How to Find the Right Real Estate Professional to List Your Home

Here are some questions to ask agents (or ask yourself what you think about the agents) who want to list your home:

Does he or she work full-time at their real estate career?
Do you trust him or her?
Is he or she well trained and keeping up with changes in the industry?
How long has he or she been licensed?
Does he or she strive to abide by the REALTORS© Code of Ethics?
Will you be able to talk to him or her...or will you end up having to talk with a partner or assistant?
Is he or she readily available or too busy to talk to you?
Since this is a long term relationship, are your personalities compatible?
Does he or she just say thing you want to hear or are you getting an honest critique of your home and your individual situation?
Is he or she creative and able to come up with new marketing tools?
Is he or she really working at getting you home priced right or jut quoting a quick "price per square foot" in hopes you will under price your home so it will bring a very quick commission?
Did he or she give you a marketing plan that uses marketing that really works to sell homes?
When you look carefully at the marketing proposed will it help your home stand out in the marketplace or just look like "on in the crowd"?
What kind of information will the agent leave in the house for prospective buyers of your home?
Is the company (and the agent) progressive and looking towards the future?
Is the company (and the agent) constantly looking for new ideas to help you sell your home?
